POST-PRISON SUPPORT HOME – PRO DOMO INTEGRATION CENTRE

is a temporary shelter for homeless people who are leaving prisons and remand centres and, due to their circumstances, cannot or should not return to the environment they lived in before their time in prison. The centre offers 8 rotating places for men, allowing for a stay of 3 months, with the possibility of extending the stay to 6 months.

Residents of Pro Domo are required to take up employment and participate in therapy in accordance with their individual contract. The centre offers residents therapeutic and psychoeducational support aimed at preventing relapse into addiction, as well as motivating them to set life goals and providing support in achieving them. Residents have the opportunity to consult a lawyer, a career advisor, a psychologist and an addiction therapist.

Pro Domo is a place where, under the guidance of specialists, residents can find their place in reality: take up employment, renew contact with their families, find specialist support in the fight against addiction, discover a passion and learn how to spend their free time constructively.

Admission criteria

Conditional early release from serving the remainder of a sentence or completion of a custodial sentence;
Prior submission of a completed questionnaire and written acceptance of the Centre’s Rules and Regulations (files available for download below);
Confirmation of accommodation by the Centre Manager;
Placement under the supervision of the Małopolska Probation Association (consent to supervision by the Małopolska Probation Association is sent to the Penitentiary Court upon receipt of the decision appointing the Association to carry out supervision or upon request – including by email – from the probation officer or prison manager prior to the scheduling of a Penitentiary Court hearing regarding the granting of conditional early release) – this condition applies exclusively to individuals granted conditional early release from their sentence who are applying to stay at Pro Domo.

The implementation of activities is based on agreements concluded between the Małopolska Probation Association and the Regional Inspectorate of the Prison Service in Kraków and with prison facilities, as well as on cooperation with the Probation Service. Activities undertaken as part of the project consist of running the Pro Domo post-release support centre and the Post-Release Support Centre providing outpatient assistance. Priority for accommodation at the facility is given to people experiencing long-term homelessness or those who, for various reasons, cannot or should not return to their pre-imprisonment residence, whilst initial assessment takes place whilst they are still in prison.

Beneficiaries will receive support to help them become self-reliant, including: provision of accommodation for up to 3 months, food and other material assistance, psychological and therapeutic support, and career and legal advice. Educational and rehabilitation activities include: encouraging them to take up employment, supporting them in rebuilding family relationships, fostering independence and responsibility for their own actions, and motivating and supporting them in changing their pre-imprisonment lifestyle, including measures to prevent violence.

We invite those interested in staying at the centre, or their representatives, to contact the Centre Manager.
